A few weekends ago found me on the south shore of windermere, a few miles from Far Sawrey at Silverholme Manor for the humanist wedding ceremony of Asrinah & Andrey. Andrey wanted my wedding photography from the humanist ceremony at one of the couple’s favourite places in the world, Grubbins Point on the shores of Windermere, and part of the silverholme estate; through the lake cruise and wedding breakfast to the release of the chinese lanterns at night. It was both a very multicultural wedding, with the white russian families of the groom mixing it with the bangladeshi muslim bride’s family, sprinkled with a crew of the couples young London college friends who had been bussed up in a marathon coach trip the day before! and a laid back experience, as everything had an pretty laissez faire attitude, right down to quite a few people almost missing the boat for the cruise 🙂
An english afternoon tea on the lawn was followed later by a sumptous evening indian spread in the marquee. As timings had fairly quickly gone out of the window, we had a very last minute dash back down to the point for 5 mins couples portraits at their fav spot, more or less in the dark! before heading back for the band starting.
