Samantha and David  chose The Swan Hotel in pretty Grasmere for their winter lakes wedding.

The 17th-century Swan is set in the Lake District National Park and sits of the foot of Lake Windermere. An elegant venue, with cosy lounges, traditional fire places, pretty gardens and stunning lake views. A perfect venue for a winter wedding. It was a cold day and though it rained at first it soon cleared giving me an opportunity to grab Samantha and David and whisk them outside to take some great shots taking in the breath taking background of the gardens and the lake.
David worked in the RAF which is where he met best friend and best man Craig. Craig renamed David ‘beautiful Dave’ because of his reported good looks and luck with the ladies! Thanks to Craig’s best man’s speech this snippet of information was shared with all Samantha and David’s wedding guests. So it looks like David won’t be shaking off the nickname any time soon. Though, it was unanimously felt that ‘beautiful Dave’ was not a patch on ‘beautiful Samantha’ who looked stunning all day. The bridal dress was from Pure Bridal in Lymm, hair by Katie Simpson of Kendal and Samantha’s flowers were kindly provided by Samantha’s friend from home, and wedding guest, Megan.
For the wedding breakfast, instead of the usual boring table numbers, each of the tables were named after a significant place for the couple. Places where the couple had first met, had their first date (in a bothy up a mountain with no facilities in case you’re wondering). Where David proposed (Harrogate) and so on. An original idea that made for some fun talking points for Samantha and David’s guests.
A friendly, elegant and cosy wedding set in beautiful surroundings. Congratulations Samantha and David for getting married and for creating such a lovely and memorable day for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember.
