Robina and Simon were married at the stunning Lannercost Priory , Simons family church. The couple and their friends had the attached holiday cottages for a few days. The weather was very cold, but the rain held off for the reception drinks in the ruins and the meal was held in the medieval Dacre Hall attached to the priory. I had the pleasure of working alongside the excellent videographer Alan Howard of The Wedding Documentary Company. Cold and time were limiting factos for the couple photography, but a run in the car with heaters full blast to warm up Robina gave the sun a chance to break through and give me some rare images in the priory itself just before the meal. By the time the speeches were done, we were almost in the dark, so had to break out the flashgun for some supplementary light and then used the priory floodlights to illuminate the couple against a dramatic sky as night fell.
Then it was back into the hall for the silent disco, with everyone dancing away to the dj’s tunes streaming through their headsets 🙂
