David and Tracy chose the magnificent Langdale Chase for their Lake District Wedding.
Langdale Chase is a truly magnificent country house hotel, it commands panoramic and inspirational views of Lake Windermere and mountains from the seclusion of its own woodland.
The ceremony was given an interesting twist as the couple used a wild owl to deliver the rings. The registrar service took some persuading as they are not keen on using animals in ceremonies but eventually agreed. The owl took off, there were a few screams of alarm from the youngest guest, which did put the owl if its stroke a bit. But despite a crash landing the rings were successfully delivered. Well done that owl!
After the ceremony there were more birds of prey. A full display in fact. A red kite flew through the best man’s legs! The guests then made a tunnel of arms and a bird flew right through them and then rested on a guests head. It was all very impressive and went down very well with David, Tracy and their guests.
After the birds of prey display everybody excitedly boarded a boat for drinks and a cruise around the lake. The rain didn’t let up but this did not dampen anybody’s spirits. In fact, Tracy and her family showed their tough northern blood by insisting on staying up on deck under umbrellas.
Not wanting to be outdone on the tough stakes, as soon as the boat reached dry land, David and his best man stripped to their underwear and jumped off the jetty into the lake. It was by all accounts very cold in there.
Then it was back into Langdale Chase for a warm welcome from the staff, a sumptuous wedding breakfast and partying well into the evening.
An original and eventful wedding set in a stunning lakeside location that the weather couldn’t dampen. Congratulations to Tracy and David for getting married and creating such a memorable day for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember.
