Hannah and Oliver chose St Oswald’s Church in the centre of the pretty village of Grasmere for their wedding ceremony.
Hannah looked stunning in a dress by Vivienne (owner of Bridal Couture by Sophie Louise) and her hair had been styled by Sasha (a friend of Hannah’s and guest at the wedding.) Hannah had seven bridesmaids including three sisters and three flower girls. The beautiful wedding party and the arranged flowers by Alex from The Flower Shop in Ambleside decorating the church provided guests with plenty to distract them from the rain. The ceremony was conducted by Cameron, who has been the village vicar for some time but still gets excited by weddings at St Oswald’s.
After the ceremony the clouds made way for blue skies, giving me the opportunity to take some photographs outside.
Hannah, Oliver and their guests then went on to the reception at the nearby Daffodil Hotel and Spa. The Daffodil Hotel opened its doors for weddings just last year. An elegant venue set in amazing grounds with stunning lake views and state of the art spa facilities. The hotel staff had beautifully dressed the wedding suite which had contemporary interiors and was flooded with natural light. This made for an elegant and luxurious venue for Hannah and Oliver’s reception allowing the couple and their guests to relax and enjoy themselves. The wedding suite also gave direct access to the hotels lakeside terrace with stunning lake views. It was my first wedding at The Daffodil Hotel and I was very impressed.
Evening entertainment was provided by Cheshire based Rock and Pop Band ‘Dexter ’, allowing guests to party well into the evening.
A pretty church wedding followed by an elegant and relaxed reception, surrounded by breath taking scenery. Congratulations to Hannah and Oliver for getting married and providing yourselves and your guests with a truly memorable day!
