Penny and Anthony chose stunning Langdale Chase hotel on the shores of Lake Windermere for their christmas lakes wedding.
The hotel boasts beautiful landscaped gardens and breath taking mountain views and its interiors are elegant and sumptuous. It is the perfect wedding venue and it is always a pleasure for me to shoot there.
Whilst Penny got ready in the hotel, with hair and make done by Lucy Pearson, the men in the party got ready at the Lake House which is a pretty stone building with several additional rooms each with spectacular views. The Lake House is situated within the grounds of the hotel. So once ready, the boys just had a short walk across the gardens to the ceremony.
Andrew, the manager at Langdale Chase, is a good friend of Penny’s as they used to work together. So there was extra pressure on Andrew to ensure that everything ran smoothly on the day! Flowers were by Alex from the Flower Shop in Ambleside and the venue was beautifully dressed by Yvonne of Ambience. This, coupled with the fact that the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas made the venue even more magical and gave me the chance to take some lovely family shots in front of the magnificent Christmas tree.
During the speeches I learned that Anthony works for Newcastle United and met Penny when she applied for a job at the club. During her interview he remembered thinking ‘I must ask this girl out’. He thankfully mustered enough self-control to stick to the questions relevant to the role for the duration of the interview. Though I understand he wasted no time afterwards.
Evening entertainment was provided by Newcastle based band ‘Doogongs’ playing soul, pop and funk music that had everybody dancing well in to the night.
A lovely friendly wedding, a stunning venue and all set in breath taking countryside. Congratulations to Penny and Anthony for getting married and creating such a memorable day.
