Becca & Matt’s Merewood wedding
Rebecca and Matthew were married in a beautiful ceremony at Holy Trinity Church, Brathay.
The Early May Bank Holiday weather was a little drizzly, but that certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of bride, groom or guests. Becca looked stunning in a dress from Mears Ghyll Bridal Rooms, her hair done by a close friend and her makeup beautifully applied by Polly Winder. She carried flowers arranged by the fantastic Floristry by Carmen. A particularly special and personal moment for the couple was when all of their nieces and nephews got up and sang, followed by their close friends playing the violin and piano.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Merewood Country House Hotel, a stone’s throw from Windermere, with fabulous views over the lake. It was a perfect place to hold the family orientated gathering that Rebecca and Matthew wanted. The children (and adults!) had the run of the place and were quick to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the blow up toys provided for them to play with… but a wedding isn’t a proper wedding until someone has a few bruises!
Joking aside, all guests, young and old(er) were catered for and everyone had a blast!
The sit down meal was fantastic, almost as good as the preceding speeches given by the newlywed’s sisters which had everyone is tears.
Congratulations to Rebecca and Matthew on their marriage, and on planning such a fun filled, beautiful day for their nearest and dearest.
