LOWWOOD HOTEL | WEDDING Story of Helen & Sam

How did you both meet?

We met in a beer garden in a pub in Englefield green, Egham which led on to the best first date ever.

Tell us about the proposal?

When we moved to Ireland we found a beautiful restaurant which we fell in love with, i could see no more of a fitting place then here , unbeknown to the future Mrs Bushell I booked the whole restaurant for her so we could be alone. After a nice meal, romantic piano playing and desert the waiter brought out a single heart shaped desert with a diamond solitaire ring and the rest is history .

Why a lake district wedding?

The lake district has always been very close to our hearts as Helen and I and the dogs spend plenty of time in or on the lakes . The staff , the location ,facilities, the fact it was dog friendly was the reason we booked the low wood bay .

Tell us about your wedding venue and why you chose the Lowwood Hotel?

I wanted some very scenic pictures and the Low Wood was the only venue that we viewed that gave us this. We also wanted some where timeless, classic and modern as well.

What was your colour scheme or wedding theme?

White and silver winter wonderland.

Tell us a bit about your dress?

A beautiful off white lace dress with beaded detail with extra long train.

Did you have ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?’

Old, borrowed and blue was the mother of the brides wedding garter, a new jewellery was provided by a very generous groom.

What was your favourite wedding photograph and why did you like it?

Far too many to choose from! as they are all our favs.

What was your most useful source of wedding ideas and information?

We found pinterest to be very useful for inspirational ideas for brides on a budget.

Tell us about a supplier who provided a first-class service.

Again we could not single any specific business out as everybody delivered above and beyond starting in no particular order , gauntlet birds of prey for bring the fabulous birds up and for a great indoor display and of coarse the ring bearer, the fun pod which was a nice touch with the karaoke and recorded messages from guests for the bride and groom, Mikey Powell for being an excellent Michael Buble and crooner tribute plus DJ, the Staff at Lowwood Bay who were amazing and went that extra mile with everything , could not fault them .Also Jenna Alexander for makeup who did a stunning job, Kate from made in flowers for the top table centre piece,  Not to forget Steve from Derwent photography who captured the best photos we could ever wish for of our special day. I the groom would like to thank the Bride Helen Bushell who designed and produced everything else in between  from the button holes to the amazing wedding cake and all the bouquets , table plans and invitations, favours and all the other personal touches which also made the day a success and extra special.

Do you have any advice for future brides?

Keep breathing and enjoy every minute as every hour goes by like a second .

What was the best part of your wedding day?

Everything! we could not of wished for a more perfect day from the weather to the location and to everybody who made it the best day of our lives . The boat and the Birds of prey made the day unique and made the day flow .

Was Steve from Derwent Photography the right wedding photographer for you?

We could not of wished for a more attentive professional photographer who offered us great advice and tips throughout the day to ensure smooth sailing . Steve took all the stress and pressure off us , so thank you
