LANGDALE CHASE | WEDDING story of Michelle & John

How did you both meet?

John saw my holiday photos on a friends mantlepiece and wanted to meet up

Tell us about the proposal

A wedding, the airshow, ten pints of San Miguel.

Why a lake district wedding?

Because our first weekend away was in Ambleside and I introduced John to walking.

Tell us about your wedding venue and why you chose that location?

Ambleside is our favourite location. The view at the hotel is amazing.

Having looked around many venues in the Lake District we realised that the Langdale chase was perfect as we walked through the door.

What was the colour scheme or wedding theme

Midnight blue for the bridesmaids, the men were in grey and silver. The flower colours were vibrant to stand out against the blue dresses.

The tables were named after the walks we had been on previously.

Tell us about your dress

The dress was a princess style with fresh pearls. It was from Cherish the Bride in West Kirkby, Wirral.

Did you have ‘something old, somthing new, something borrowed, something blue?’

I had an antique minature picture frame which one of my bridesmaids bought me with a picture of my dad in it which was pinned inside my dress.

She chose this so he could walk me up the isle. I had my sister and myself rings made out of opals which originally belonged to my dad.

I borrowed a blue garter. My something new was my shoes, dress, earrings, hairpiece.

Which was your favourite photograph and why did you like it?

We really liked the picture of Isabella sat on a stool looking up at my Mum in the ceremony. We liked it because it was very natural.

What was your most useful source of wedding ideas and information?

I regularly used Pinterest. When we got a new wedding magazine John couldn't wait to get his hands on it. Haha!

Do you have any advice for future brides?

Don't worry about any thing. It all comes together in the end.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

The whole day was amazing.

Was steve from Derwent Photography the right wedding photographer for you?

Yes he was fantastic, always professional and definitely the right man for the job. Thank you
