Emma and Jaume chose to have an outdoor wedding ceremony at Langdale Chase.
Emma and Juame met whilst studying at Cambridge, though Emma might have felt Scientist Juame wasn’t too keen as three months after the pair met he went to the Antarctic for a year to work on a survey! But a few thousand miles and a very cold climate were not enough to come between this pair.
Langdale Chase is a hotel situated just meters from the shore of Lake Windermere. The ceremony was beautiful. Emma and her bridal party entered from the top of a magnificent stone stairs leading down to the lakeside. The bride looked stunning with her make-up and hair done by cousins Gail and Karen, with flowers provided by Alex of The Flowershop Ambleside (whose business is now incorporated into Brackens of Bowness). Guests were then treated to a late afternoon boat trip around the lake. Thank goodness the weather was so beautiful!
Following the boat trip, the bride, groom, and their guests retired to the reception room for speeches from the bride’s father Keith, the groom and the best man Pepe. After this came an exquisite 3 course wedding breakfast, catered for by the Langdale Chase kitchens. A personal touch had been added to the tables by the bride’s mother, Suzanne, who had made the flower arrangements! The rest of the incredible decor was taken care of by Yvonne of Ambience Venue Styling, who did a marvelous job. The cake was provided by friend and guest Tiffany.
Fagin’s Pocket, a ceilidh band based in Carlisle, entertained the guests with some high energy barn dancing tunes after the wedding breakfast, interspersed with their usual set of traditional folk music. They were taken over by DJ Travis as the twilight darkened and the guests danced away the night.
Congratulations to Emma and Juame on their marriage and on planning an unforgettable Langdale Chase wedding and reception!
