Cote How

cote how wedding barn, next to rydal water, between grasmere and ambleside, a lovely whitewashed wedding venue in the lake district

Cote How is a beautiful venue set just outside of Rydal, near Rydal Church on the River Rothay. Owner Caroline Langham used to be a wedding dress designer and had her own boutique in Northamptonshire, so she has a great deal of experience in the wedding trade. She opened Cote How as a wedding venue in early 2014 and has received numerous awards including ‘Five stars for the Lake District’s only environmentally gold accommodation’, awarded by Visit Britain in November 2014. Not only does she care about providing unique and personal weddings, she is a massive supporter of environmentally friendliness and community welfare, she sources only local produce and eco-friendly services. Caroline really does understand what couples want and she does her utmost to ensure that the bride, groom and their guests have a fantastic day full of lasting memories.

The venue is small enough for an intimate ‘just two’ wedding but is big enough to cater for up to 80 guests. You get the full run of the property and the grounds, this coupled with Caroline’s fantastic advice and help really do make Cote How a venue with a difference. Every wedding I have shot here has had its own unique feel to it, no two weddings are anything alike!

I love shooting at Cote How, the venue itself offers some great photographic opportunities and the surrounding 4 acres of land hold spectacular views and even more great places to shoot. I can’t sing its praises enough!

Cote How offers the opportunity to have either an indoor wedding in the Fairfield ceremony room or an outdoor ceremony in the grounds. This means your special day won’t be dampened by the threat of rain but can make the most of Cumbria’s rare but stunning sunny days! The barn is actually one of only two that are licensed for Civil Ceremonies and has the option of either an indoor or outdoor ceremony. This venue has so many options, there’s something for everyone!
