holbeck ghyll wedding venue in lake district cumbria

Kerry and Andrew chose to have a Holbeck Ghyll wedding in late February.

Holbeck Ghyll is a fantastic venue with views over Windermere and the Langdale Pikes. It also is home to Cumbria’s only Michelin starred restaurant and their new chef recently won Professional Masterchef!

The couple had their small, intimate ceremony in the stunning Sir Henry Seagrave room, a light and airy room with huge panels of glazing looking out over the Langdales. Kerry looked stunning in a dress bought from Satin Bow Bridal in St Albans. Her hair was done by Lucinda Hayton, with Swarovski crystal hairpins designed by Polly Edwards.

Following the ceremony everyone headed outside for a very brief confetti throwing session (it was Very Cold!) before heading inside for drinks, nibbles and to properly congratulate the couple, accompanied by Anna-Kate Pearson playing the harp beautifully.

Everyone enjoyed the facilities of the hotel, the kids (and some of the adults…) ran around and played with stickers. After the newlyweds cut their cake everyone was entertained by magician David Lancaster, who amazed guests with his tricks and sleight of hand! Whilst David was distracting people, I took Kerry and Andrew out for a short location shoot. Despite the cold we managed to get some great shots, the couple were brilliant to work with.

And then it was time for the wedding breakfast, everyone headed back into the Holbeck’s Seagrave room which had been stunningly reset for dinner. With the light setting over the hills it was a truly brilliant dining experience!

Congratulations to Kerry and Andrew on their marriage, and also on creating such a memorable and intimate days for their closest friends and family!
