GRANGE HOTEL | WEDDING story of Caroline & Sean

How did you both meet?

We were friends for a year before Sean went to Thailand for 4 months and on the day he was travelling we kissed each other. It was the longest 4 months without him. We have now been together for 9 years.

Tell us about the proposal?

We were on holiday in Turkey and Sean and I went for a walk on the beach and he found a hammock that we both sat on and then he said Caroline Emmerton will you marry me and I cried and said yes!

Why a lake district wedding?

We love the Lake District anyway and fell in love with the Grange Hotel as soon as we saw it. Just beautiful!

Tell us about your wedding venue & why you chose the Grange Hotel?

We love Grange and just love the Grange Hotel because of its history and it’s style.

What was your colour scheme or wedding theme?

Sage green, navy blue and ivory were the colours. The theme was centred around the grange hotel. The grange hotel is an old railway station hotel so travel was the theme.

Tell us about your dress?

It’s a Spanish designer pronovias and is made with beautiful Spanish lace. The dress itself is truly amazing. Landel is elegant, is high necked, has a long trail and is a mermaid silhouette.

What was your favourite photograph and why did you like it?

I love the ones where myself and Sean are in the arches inside the hotel. Magical! There are loads that I like though.

What was your most useful source of wedding ideas and information?

Internet, magazines but the main source was centred around the hotel. I wanted everything to compleat everything in the hotel.

Tell us about a supplier who provided a first-class service.

Grange flowers were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for you. My bouquet was beautiful and the team there are truly talented.

Do you have any advice for future brides?

Get up early like I did and embrace the day. I went running at 7am so that I could have a really full day and enjoy it in stages.

What was the best part of your wedding day?

It was all fabulous! And like I said it was in stages and I loved it all.

Was Steve from Derwent Photography the right wedding photographer for you?

Yes Steve has done a fabulous job!
